Two engines
I haven't decided yet what game engine to use. I own a license to Construct2, which is fine, I like it. However, I got my eyes into GDevelop5, since my main goal here is to write a story, and GD5 has support to dialogue trees and Yarn. I haven't yet used them, but I'm thinking it's better to have in mind since the beggining what funcionalities will be implemented in the future. But of course, I could find a way to work with Construct2 for this. So far, I'm implementing things almost side by side, there are some that are only in one of the two projects, but eventually I'll start using only one engine.
Also, I was in the shower and had an idea for a song to use in the game, but when I tried to compose it on a tool calld Online Sequencer, the idea started to run between my fingers. The idea was a piano solo with very few notes, giving a Breath of the Wild semisilent song, with also a hint of Fi's Theme, a hint of First Steps, from Celeste (Lena Raine is the artist) and a hint of Everything In Its Right Place by Radiohead.
It happens. It will come back to me.
Yesterday I started drawing on Piskel a sketch of my main character. The only thing I'm sure for now is that I want them to have a bowlcut colorful (or platinum blonde) hair. Other than that, I have no idea.
But in order to have something we can call a game to present in a near future, the character will still be ugly at first, I can polish its look later.
And I drew a map for the part of the city where the game will take place. How about that?
Let me know your opinions.
That's it for today.
