coding and what it does to me
dec 16th 2020
today i moved basically everything that was coding documentation from the game design doc to the code itself, the event sheets, etc. when explaining the game, which is the purpose of the gdd, there’s no need to be detailed to the point where you can understand the code itself. it should be lighter.
and when someone else is going to read or update the code, they’re already there, why should they have to check the gdd too?
too much redundancy. that’s waste. and i have to remove the waste of the project. i’m not being mean by using “waste”, it’s the word seth coster used. i’m covered here.
besides that, i avoided fixing the main issue right now, that is the redesign of the cooking screen. and that’s because the code is already so confusing that it’s starting to snowball into bugs. that’s why i need this reboot of processes that i’m doing.
i will have to do a reboot of some code, move things around and organize things better. automate the code more. that way, i think i will shine some light on what behind the scenes is the main cause for the current bugs on the cooking screen.
but i have to be honest, i really don’t like coding anymore. i’m good at it, but i could live without it.
