bots in mars?
hi!
it's me again, thiago, coming to you with a new project
a strategy game about "colonizing" other plants, but not with humans, with robots
collect and process resources, print more robots, and build a new rocket to colonize the next planet
let's start with mars
this is a prototype, of course
i have created already two types of bots: a miner and a transporter
they work autonomously, as you'd expect from a robot in space
also you can configure what resource the bot will work with by clicking on it, as you can see in the gif above
the miner goes to the closest ore deposit and starts mining
the transporter detects mined ore pieces, collects them until its storage is full, then loads the resources to the mainframe
the resource bar above shows the intended resources, including ore, processed materials, etc
there will be more types of bots, for printing bots, for refining and producing materials, etc
i'm using godot for this project
i'm trying to work daily on this game, at least for a few minutes, so you can expect updates all the time
the plan is to add micro functionalities and publish, like this: for the next update you can expect an option for creating new miners. in the long run, this will be done by a new kind of robot, but a micro functionality has to be smaller than that. so: i'll add a button that will simply spawn a new miner
